The tournament has got under way at the Miniestadi after a short presentation in the presence of the more one thousand youngters who will take part in more than 276 matches during Easter week.
Easter week is here and with it a new edition of the FCB Escola International Tournament in which more than 1,000 youngsters will take part in a tournament which is now in its fourth year. The competition got under way on Monday with a short opening presentation before the action began for real at 10.30am CET with the first of the 276 matches that will be played in the annexe pitches at the Miniestadi between Monday and Thursday 2 April.
For the four days of this footballing festival children have come from 22 different schools all over the world: Barcelona, Warsaw, Singapore, Egypt, Dubai, Santo Domingo, India, Fukuoka, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Turkey, Florida, Peru, Tec. Barcelona, Tec. Catalunya, Tec. Tenerife, Tec. Illes Balears, Tec. La Rioja, USA Blue, USA Red, Italy and China. As such the number of participants will surpass the 800 of last year’s edition and the 600 of the event two years ago.
